Developing and printing his own photos since the age of 7, Niels Van Iperen was a renowned photographer by the age of 16. After working for famous record companies and magazines including Rolling Stone and NME, he moved to LA and NY to work on advertising campaigns for high-profile companies like Coca-Cola and Nike.

In his transformation from reportage photographer to commercial photographer, he walks a fine line between taking photos and making photos, between real life and life re-created. This gives his work two qualities that most advertising photography lacks: daring and a sense of spontaneity.
